European Community The current Italian general regulatory framework referring to environmental issues, takes its starting point from the European Directives that already in 1991 had ordered Member States to develop programs and laws for the application of that Directive concerning the collection and treatment of wastewater in general.

Italy In Italy, as a result of that Directive, Legislative Decree 152/99 was issued, which then resulted in the Consolidated Environmental Act that came into force on April 29, 2006 under the name Legislative Decree No. 152 of April 3, 2006, “Environmental Regulations.”

RegionsIn implementation of Art. 121 (Water Protection Plans) of Legislative Decree 152/06, the regions, after consulting the provinces and after the adoption of safeguard measures, adopt the Water Protection Plan […].
